High School

Students in high school take classes through Ignitia, an online curriculum offered by Alpha Omega Publications, an excellent Christian curriculum provider. High school students also enjoy Bible and other elective subjects and may enroll in elective classes (not taught at HCS) at the local public school.

  • Achievement tests. We administer achievement tests as instruments to measure student understanding of concepts, terms, and skills at specific grade levels. We usually administer these tests in April.
  • PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit  Scholarship Qualifying Test). Available to students in the 10th and 11th grades who plan to attend college. The PSAT measures verbal and mathematical abilities.
  • SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) and ACT (American College Testing). These college entrance exams measure a student’s academic college readiness. Most colleges and universities require students to submit test results from at least one of these.
  • SAT Subject Tests. Students who plan to attend a state college must select three areas to test in.
